Revolut App Launches Dogecoin Trading To Its Platform

The UK-based REvolut app launched Dogecoin trading to its platform due to popular demand and now users can buy and sell the meme coin within the app so let’s read more in our latest Dogecoin news.

DOGE is now one of the 30 cryptocurrencies that are available on the Revolut app. The London-based fintech company Revolut announced that dogecoin will be available to buy, sell and hold within the app along with 29 other cryptocurrencies. Revolut offers a mobile banking service and it is known as a “challenger bank” in the UK which is a term used for digital bank startups that aim to disrupt the big banks of old. The company said that Dogecoin is the sixth biggest cryptocurrency now with a market cap of over $40 billion and became a very popular request among users.

The cryptocurrency was invented as a joke but now it is very popular among traders and within the last year, the coin gained huge mainstream adoption that was mainly helped by Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk and his tweets about the cryptocurrency. The price is up over 12000% in the past year in part because Musk’s tweets pumped the coin.  The head of the crypto at Revolut Ed cooper said:

 “We have just launched Dogecoin in-app. So now keen crypto customers and those new to the game can buy and sell this popular token.”

Revolut allows people to buy and sell crypto on its platform but previously it only allowed customers to hold crypto on the app and nothing more but now they are able to withdraw BTC to an external wallet. The company allowed crypto trading on its platform a few years ago and last year it reported a 2.5x increase in the crypto activity on its app over the past year. The Dogecoin demand doesn’t stop with Revolut since Coinbase Pro is the exchange’s professional trading platform that announced the coin’s availability that was made available on all coinbase platforms with the exchange kicking off a $1.2 million DOGE activity. Despite being started as a joke in 2013 by developers that wanted to poke fun on the market as the coin wants to be taken as a payment method.
