By Shiela Bertillo

Following the success of Lunacian Scholarship League (LSL), SEAesport, an esport broadcasting team in South East Asia, launched MetaSports last Friday, December 3. MetaSport stands for “Metaverse Esport”, an organization aimed at reimagining esports and gaming for Web 3.0.

MetaSports aims to build, innovate, and invest toward its vision of Web 3 Esports using blockchain and NFTs; onboard more play-to-earn guilds, players, and influencers to esports; guide, support, bring value to NFT game projects through their collective experience; continue 360 Esports Production, both NFT games and Non-NFT games, with SEAesport; and lastly, tokenize aspects of their products and experiences for investors and the community.

The CEO of the organization is SEAesport Business Director, Joe Josue, while SEAesport Head of Operations, Ron Fruel, has taken the mantle of Head of Esports for MetaSports. They are joined by co-founding directors Peter Ing, founder of BlockchainSpace, and Lars Hernandez, Co-Founder & COO at Overdrive Creative Studio.

Lunacian Scholarship League is the first professionally produced esports league for the leading play-to-earn non-fungible token (NFT) game Axie Infinity launched in February this year.

The LSL started with only an invitational of just 8 guilds, the league has since grown into engaging more than 150+ Play-to-Earn guilds. Also it helped innovate NFT esports experiences with NFT Trophies & League Tickets, and powered other esports organizers in the space with professional esports broadcast production and tournament operations.
