Semi-Finals: 2022 FIFA World Cup Betting Odds

And then there were four. Ladies and Gentlemen, these are the semi-finals odds of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It goes without saying that this World Cup has proven that odds are exactly that, odds. Nothing can shock us anymore. If you knew your football, this was the best time to place your bets as many won big.

Portugal was sent packing by Morocco in a frustrating loss for Cristiano Ronaldo in what seems to be his last World Cup appearance. Brazil was utterly dominated in the midfielding position by the 37-year-old Luka Modric, Neymar thought he had clinched a win in the first half of the extra time, only for an equaliser to come late into extra time for Croatia. Brazil lost in the penalty shoot-out.

Netherlands were an equal match for the Argentine as expected by the odds, as Werghost came off the bench and got two goals for the Netherlands, one coming as late as in the last attack of the game. Netherlands went on to lose in the penalty shootout. France sent England home in a well hard fought game by both sides. The Three Lions won’t be bringing it back home after all.

Argentina (1.85) vs (4.90) Croatia

Many doubted, and many are still in disbelief. Croatia dropped Brazil in the quarter-finals as Luka Modric clocked in another world-class performance. If there was any denying then, there is no denying it now.

Croatia will take much more than just talent to get rid of. On Friday night they played Brazil in what seemed to be an easy win for the Brazilians on paper. To our surprise, Modric and Brozovic’s ability to dictate the game from the middle defensively and offensively was second to none. That’s where the game was made for Croatia, in the heart and centre of the pitch. It all ended in a penalty shootout that saw two Brazilian players miss.

Argentina locked heads with the Netherlands in what will be remembered as the start of a rivalry possibly for years to come as there were so many emotions involved in the game.

So many fights broke out, some believe it was caused by the dislike and the history shared amongst the players and coaches, but it could also be just the longitude of the game and the desire to win. This one ended in penalties too, but it seemed the Netherlands were surprised by the outcome as they were initially overly confident about a victory coming their way.

The big question now is, can Croatia make another final? Could we possibly have a repeat of the 2018 World Cup Final?

Argentina is a good match-up for Croatia, they have the tools to defeat Argentina, but so can Argentina beat Croatia, they have all the tools to do so too. If Messi can show up as the creator that he has been for Argentina, he could counter Luka Modric’s offensive abilities.

We are in for a cracker of a game.

France (1.55) vs (7.20) Morocco

Morocco shook the world once again when they eliminated Portugal and ended the dreams of so many fans out there.

They did it all with one late first-half goal that they managed to hold onto for the remainder of the game.

France beat England two to one in an action-packed game. This was a game worth the hype as it lived up to it. Tchouameni put France ahead early in the first half. England found an equaliser from the penalty spot, only for Giroud to pull France back ahead. England got another penalty late in the game, but Kane couldn’t find an equaliser as he totally missed the target.

France have a handful in Morocco, Achraf Hakimi knows and understands Kylian Mbappe as his teammate and companion, he is now tasked with the job of stopping the elite French winger.

This game could be much closer than expected if Morocco plays with the same heart that they have consistently shown. Morocco is the undefeated team out of the two and has only conceded one goal throughout the tournament.

We could be in for a banger as Morocco looks to keep rewriting African history.
