Sentinels and NRG secure VALORANT partnership

The North American titans make it

Sentinels, arguably the most popular organization in VALORANT, has secured partnership with Riot Games. The North American organization will join the Americas league next year alongside nine other teams from across the region.

Sentinels have gained thousands of fans since the start of the VALORANT circuit and skyrocketed in popularity following the signing of TenZ in April 2021. The move followed the suspension of former Overwatch superstar Jay “sinatraa” Won, who has yet to play professional VALORANT.

Sentinels also shocked the VALORANT community earlier this year with the signing of streamer and former Counter-Strike pro shroud, a popular figure in both CSGO and VALORANT.

Known as one of the most dominant teams in VALORANT from 2020 to 2021, Sentinels managed to win VCT Stage Two Masters Reykjavík in May 2021. But the team failed to make headway toward the end of last year and has since dipped in performance this year.

Sentinels managed to qualify for the last chance qualifier in August but did not qualify for Champions. The team employed the help of shroud for the tournament and finished inside of the top six with NRG.

Even though they didn’t have a great amount of success recently, Sentinels will look to continue their historic success in VALORANT next year in the Americas partnered league.

New blood joins the VALORANT league

Now looking at a much newer team, North American organization NRG is set to compete in the Americas international VALORANT league next year.

NRG, which managed to secure a partnership with developer Riot Games alongside nine other organizations, fields teams in several esports, such as Rocket League, where it has seen success. Its VALORANT team has competed at the highest level in the North American region but failed to qualify for an international event.

This North American organization is known for its content and impressive record in other esports. The VALORANT team is headlined by content creator and professional player Sam “s0m” Oh, one of the most popular streamers in the game.

NRG’s VALORANT team has seen some success in the region with the acquisition of Ethan Arnold from 100 Thieves in April. The team managed to finish fourth in the VCT 2022 Stage Two Challengers, which concluded in June. NRG managed to qualify for the last chance qualifier but finished in the top six alongside Sentinels.

NRG also fields one of the most well-known and dominant Overwatch teams in the league, the San Francisco Shock. The organization will look to continue its impressive history in VALORANT with Riot next year.Riot is planning to announce all teams that made it into the partnership program soon. 2023 is turning out to be one of the most exciting years for all the VALORANT fans around the world.
