Following a recent catastrophic incident, the Solana-based meme coin project Slerf has decided to offer compensation to those affected during the presale. The mishap led to losses exceeding $10 million for presale participants, and was attributed to an unfortunate accident involving the project’s developer.

Slerf to Provide NFTs for Affected Investors

In response to the concerns raised by impacted investors, the Slerf network made an announcement on social media, stating, “We’re planning to drop Soul-bound NFTs to the wallet addresses of affected presalers as well as refund contributors.” This move aims to provide a way for other projects to airdrop tokens or NFTs easily and offer investors a tangible piece of memorabilia related to their involvement in the $SLERF HISTORY.

Previously, the community had accused the Solana meme coin project of running a Ponzi scheme due to the incident. However, the latest steps taken by Slerf have helped alleviate such suspicions.

The project’s developer recently made a candid admission on X, revealing a critical mistake that led to the accidental burning of a significant portion of the token supply, including assets designated for LP and airdrop distribution within the Slerf ecosystem.

Additionally, the Solana meme coin Slerf’s presale, which had accumulated over 50,000 SOL worth $10.8 million, suffered a complete loss due to the inadvertent burning of LP tokens and the entire reserve of 500 million SLERF tokens intended for the airdrop. Despite efforts to rectify the situation, the inability to mint new tokens left presale investors without a means to recover their investments.

To ensure transparency and address community concerns, the Slerf team organized a session on X Spaces, where team member Slorg expressed deep regret and uncertainty about the future steps to take in light of the circumstances.
