Tech, Media, Telecom Team From BlueSquare Joins Oberon Securities

The senior team from BlueSquare Capital, a boutique investment bank specializing in the technology, media and telecommunications industries, has joined Oberon Securities, an investment banking firm focused on middle market companies.
The three BlueSquare professionals – Russ Crafton, Jeen Pae and Rob Dressler – have joined Oberon as Managing Directors. BlueSquare will continue operations as an affiliate of Oberon.

Crafton, who was a Founder and Managing Director at BlueSquare, focuses on emerging growth businesses, particularly in areas of technology, communications digital media, and IT services. He has advised numerous clients on both mergers and acquisitions and capital raising over a more than 25 year career.

Prior to founding BlueSquare, Crafton was a Partner and Co-Founder of Redwood Capital. Prior to that, he held positions at JP Morgan’s Technology Investment Banking Group, Lucent Technologies, and Merrill Lynch’s Merger and Acquisitions Group. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Pae, who was a Co-Founder and Senior Advisory at BlueSquare, also has over 25 years’ experience in investment banking and the software industry, completing domestic and cross-border transactions worth over $6 billion. He focuses on emerging growth businesses in enterprise software, IT and managed services, and has experience across the technology landscape.

He was also previously a Founder and Partner at Redwood Capital and held prior positions with JPMorgan’s Technology Investment Banking Group, Credit Suisse’s Leveraged Finance Group and Oracle Corporation. Pae has an MBA from Wharton (UPenn) and a B.A. in computer science from Brown.

Dressler, who was a Managing Director at BlueSquare, focuses on mergers, acquisitions and capital raising for technology, communications and software companies. Prior to that, at Redwood, he advised clients in the technology, communications, IT services and digital media sectors. He has also held positions at Internet Capital Group (ICG), MapQuest.com, Mitchell Madison Group, and AT&T. He holds an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science with Honors from Carnegie Mellon University.
