Tom Holkenborg To Auction Personalized Audio Odyssey

Tom Holkenborg, also known as Junkie XL, one of Hollywood’s famous blockbuster composers, is auctioning a unique offering. He will compose a one-of-kind musical score for the ‘Soundtrack Of Your Life’ NFT concept.

In detail, the auction will begin at noon EST on June 16, 2021. Moreover, it will take place on AmplifyX, the NFT platform built on the energy-efficient Tezos blockchain. 

The idea for this NFT concept is Holkenborg’s chance to push the boundaries of what is possible with NFTs. He will compose a +20minute musical score based on an interview with the winner. The winner’s victories, memories, emotions, and heartbreaks will inspire the score.

In particular, this auction offers the chance to have one of Hollywood’s greatest bards unravel your life to create a truly personalized audio odyssey for you or your loved ones. In fact, the winner will assume the role of the muse and have their life immortalized in the form of a unique NFT.

Some of Holkenborg’s most coveted works include Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, and Godzilla vs Kong. Moreover, he worked with many big names in the industry. To name a few, Peter Jackson, Robert Rodriguez, James Cameron, Tim Miller, and Zack Snyder.  

However, this will be his first real exploration of the blockchain. The composer says he is curious to experiment more with this technology. More so because he is drawn to its transparency and decentralized approach. He also adds,

“Beneath the hype it still feels quite punk rock and DIY, and I believe that major possibilities exist within the Blockchain to help empower creators. It’s always good to think about expanding the limits of how and where music can go, and to collaborate with artists in other mediums. I’m certainly not first in the NFT space, but I thought the Soundtrack Of Your Life was my chance to add something different and make something totally unique. It’s going to be fun!”

Besides the ‘Soundtrack Of Your Life’ NFT, the composer will also drop 14 other items for auction. One of them will be the first original non-film-related work from him since 2012 —  ‘Despite All That Was’. Also making an appearance, are three original pieces of artwork made in collaboration with visual artist Space Renders (Juan Piana).

Finally, AmplifyX CEO, Adam Cowherd says that the platform is building the toolkit to help creators raise capital and create additive revenue streams. All in all, it is a means for creators to engage with their fans in a whole new way. Lastly, 10% of the auction gross will go to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Earth Alliance charity.
