Upgraded solar battery boosts The Stage Box’s longevity

The Stage Bus, an events production company that provides solar-powered staging solutions, has updated The Stage Box.

The Birmingham-based company’s newest stage is built into a converted 6m shipping container. It provides a stage platform that can operate from the back of a truck, or as a detachable unit that can self-dismount using hydraulic legs. The entire stage is solar-powered and can run for up to eight hours on a full charge.

The latest version of The Stage Box features a modular solar battery system, allowing its running length to be extended past the eight-hour mark. As a self-contained unit that can be locked up and safely left at any event site overnight, it is suited for small to medium-sized events such as corporate activations and weddings.

The Stage Box is equipped with a PA system and LED lighting, with hydraulic legs that allow it to self-level on uneven terrain. The stage can be deployed at ground level, allowing people to get up close and personal with it when used in interactive events such as marketing activations. It can also be raised up to 2m off the ground, providing maximum visibility for musical performances.

During the UEFA Euro 2020 football tournament, The Stage Box was set up in London’s Trafalgar Square, from where it broadcast the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The stage has also seen used at university events, festivals and Jubilee celebrations across the country.

The Stage Bus was founded in 2006 by managing director Andrew Teverson. The company’s original product, The Stage Bus, was a double-decker bus that it purchased from Transport for London and converted into a mobile stage. Since then, The Stage Bus has evolved into a fleet of units suitable for a range of events.

“Our relaunched Stage Box provides greater longevity, but with the same level of versatility and the unique personality of the original,” said Teverson. “It has been engineered with power efficiency and ease of use at the front of our minds – the whole thing can be deployed and set up in a short amount of time, and provides powerful AV capabilities to any event site.”
