Virtually tear through the curves of the iconic Nürburgring in the passenger seat next to Carlos Rivas

Nürburg, Germany, December 14, 2021 — In a groundbreaking new video by TMD Friction, the leading provider of braking technology, you almost literally physically experience how important it is to be able to brake flawlessly in the curves of the Nürburgring. The video, which features the first ever 360° drone footage of the track, was produced in cooperation with the successful German racing team BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR. The driver on duty is Carlos Rivas, the most successful Pro-Am driver in the more than 30-year history of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland.

BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR secured two championship titles in the Porsche Carrera Cup at the end of October at the Hockenheimring. Porche icon Carlos Rivas won one of the titles, which made him the most successful Pro-Am driver in the history of the cup. The following day, the man got behind the wheel again, this time at the legendary Nürburgring, with 360° cameras on and in the car.

​For an optimal experience, the unique video is best viewed with a VR headset or mobile device. The tearing drive through the Nordschleife is 24 kilometres long and, for 9 minutes, Carlos Rivas explains how to carefully manoeuvre the various corners of the Green Hell in order to set the fastest time: “To push your car to the limit on the most exciting and challenging race track in the world, you need to be able to rely on your brakes 100%. Every corner affects the next, so full control is essential. The slightest mistake and your race could be over.”
