OK, I’ll be honest. It can be rationalized in many ways, but ultimately I’m investing in stocks because they’re fun.
I’m a geek, and I enjoy scouring through companies, comparing stats, and finding hidden gems.
Unlike crypto, when I invest in a stock I’m buying a small piece of a company. This feels special. That company has history, it has employees, it has a vision and purpose. It’s a great feeling studying a business, getting to know it, investing, and seeing it succeed.
There are also some great communities within the stock investing world, on forums, on Patreon, and Discord channels. The whole thing has a somewhat different feel to crypto, and I very much enjoy meeting other stock geeks and comparing notes on portfolios. Crypto somehow feels more mathematical, less “human”.
