Successively, in a recent hearing, the court has denied the request coming from defendants to seal the legal memos.
Whilst granting the request to file the Sur-Reply, the judge has also ordered to unseal the three documents in the prevailing case.
Is This The Turn Before An End To Ripple’s Agony?
In a recent ruling according to substantial sources, Judge Torres has ordered granting and denying in part and motions by defendants. The judge will unseal an email to Larsen and legal memos to Ripple.
The finding debates are to be sealed “unjustified”, but the redactions granted to Garlinghouse are to be protected as “potentially sensitive information” in three documents.
The judge has also ordered the public release of documents filed by both sides under seal anticipating motions to seal that never existed. In addition, Judge Torres has granted Ripple’s request to file Sur-Reply to the SEC’s motion to strike the fair notice defense.
It was on the 7th of June 2021, when Ripple had filed the motion to submit a Sur-Reply. However, the Sur-Reply is due on February 9th, 2022.
The XRP army has taken the ruling made by Judge Torres sportingly, which favors public disclosure. While Ripple cannot seal certain documents that are legal, the same remains applicable to the SEC.
