William Hinman Pushed the SEC to Sue Ripple

Fox Business journalist Eleanor Terrett has revealed new information concerning William Hinman, former corporate finance director of the SEC, and his role in the Ripple lawsuit.

The journalist disclosed that one of her sources revealed Hinman was key in the SEC’s drive for a lawsuit.

According to Terret, when Ripple was originally accused of violating US securities laws, former SEC chair Jay Clayton proposed a settlement between the two and was in favor of it from the start. Hinman, on the other hand, was not having it and urged the SEC to initiate a lawsuit against Ripple for allegedly breaking US securities laws through its 2013 Initial Coin Offering (ICO).
