— Mr Misang is walking, breathing, and leaving his traces in the crypto world.

Wait, “what is the crypto world?”

— A Worldview.

#12. “Mr Misang & Crypto World” is the final piece from Mr Misang’s premiere NFT collection, Modern Life is Rubbish (abbreviated “MLIR”).

Mr Misang’s first 11 MLIR works have featured animated recreations of illustrations previously conceived back in 2016. Uniquely, however, his 12th and final work is a recent creation that serves as the pinnacle of MLIR, rendering a virtual Cryptovoxels art gallery with 2D animated displays that pay homage to Mr Misang’s previously auctioned digital artworks.

Through the MLIR collection, Mr Misang has immersed many viewers in a wave of bright-neon flashes that wittingly reveals the plasticities of the modern day. For it is the deep appreciation of a single work of art through which a viewer, at least for a faint moment, loses oneself in the reality of the virtual, rediscovering oneself in the world of one’s own inspired creation.

In #12, as Mr Misang is thrown into the metaverse, he playfully walks around, imitating copies of himself in the art, leaving imprints all across the gallery. The line between reality and fiction, the physical world and the metaverse, the viewer and the art (within art) — everything becomes quizzically blurred, scattered in shape, distorted in movement. Both the exhibition and appreciation of Mr Misang’s animations in the virtual world becomes art itself.

Although virtual spaces of art may appear to “meta-physically” (no pun intended) coexist with the metaverse, the Mr Misang who jumps out of the metaverse, paradoxically, by that very act of jumping out, distorts the space of art he inhabits. The catch is that Mr Misang teleports back out into the real world at the end of the video. After all, what will happen if #12 is exhibited again in yet another Cryptovoxels gallery? (An art within art within art…)

This seeming puzzle turns out to have a quite simple solution… (if at all?)

Mr Misang is he who freely drifts from one virtual world to another, one story to the next, riding on the precarious riverbanks between reality and digitality.

Mr Misang’s final animation, #12, is the key to realizing Mr Misang’s worldview: a bridge that connects all possible worlds and impossible dimensions that Mr Misang will set out to create in the future…

Or, at least, that’s the story that Mr Misang wants you to believe…

What do you think?
