Bitcoin is not a coin.

It’s unfortunate that the ‘-coin’ in the name makes people’s minds go straight to the monetary aspect of the technology, but I think that people must be reminded that Bitcoin is an experiment that transaction by transaction; hash by hash; tests an incorruptible information system.

Why does Bitcoin increases in value day after day?

The reason is simple, every second that Bitcoin remains working with no signs of corruption, the more people believe in the technology, and the more people believe in it, the more value it acquires.

Bitcoin is an experiment that tests a computational network. At this point, it doesn’t really matter what practical value Bitcoin has — leave practical solutions to the alternative crypto projects — all that matters is the proof of the technology behind it.

Say that you are convinced that the technology holds up, then what now? How to apply this crypto technology?

Well, one of the ways to take practical advantage of the technology is by making the system intricate enough so that we are able to safely manipulate information that is more meaningful than a number in a digital wallet.

I bet that a few weeks ago you didn’t even know that NFTs existed and now it seems like everybody is talking about it and Google is pushing it from all sides.

The reason for this is that NFTs illustrate the tip of the crypto iceberg nicely.

With NFTs, we are able to do more than change my wallet balance. Now, we able to safely exchange complex information like music, images, movies, games — everything that can be digitalized, really.

NFT technology guarantees that the owner of a unique digital asset can:

  • Confirm Ownership;
  • Guarantee Authenticity;
  • Safely Transfer the Asset;

In light of this, it’s easy to understand why people are so excited about the possibilities. Now it’s just a matter of implementation and time.

With time NFT technology will provide nations with a safe and cheap information system.

How long until the first nation starts issuing documents using NFT?

Imagine pulling your phone in an airport to reveal your NFT-Passport, which is arguably harder to falsify than the traditional paper Passport.

To me is actually more probable that paper documents become obsolete. I think that NFT is just the beginning of a wave of extremely reliable information systems and it makes me excited to be a part of this.
