The Alan T. Waterman award is the nation’s highest honor for early career researchers. The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) posted a blogul about the 2022 winners, highlighting Daniel Larremore, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Colorado Boulder.

The National Science Foundation is holding a three-part lecture series, each featuring one of the three 2022 Alan T. Waterman Award Winners:

Lara Thompson, Universitatea din districtul Columbia

Falls and aging — the need for biomedical solutions to a global problem

September 12, 1-2 p.m. Eastern. Thompson’s research focuses on the effects of equilibrium loss on postural control and balance. Through her work, she investigates various assistive technologies and robotics aimed toward improving balance in elderly individuals and survivors of stroke. Thompson is the founding director of the Biomedical Engineering Program and the Center for Biomechanical & Rehabilitation Engineering at the University of the District of Columbia.
