Sure — There are three main areas that we are focusing on, which all circle around bringing trust and simplicity to the complex and unregulated space we are operating in:

1 — Trust: Rug pulls and exit scams are leaving investors out of pocket and are a major problem. Blockchain is inherently secure, but bad actors thrive in a space lacking regulation. It is upon the community to regulate ourselves and we hope to achieve this through multiple locking mechanisms, from liquidity locking, to team token lock ups. We’ll also have our dashboard that will help provide social trust and proofing for project.

2- Transparency: Tokenomics is a controversial subject. Finding details on a project’s tokenomics is often challenging. Many projects bury this information somewhere in a white paper, with some removing it from their site completely post-launch. We will bring transparency to project tokenomics through our Polkalokr Dashboard.

3 — Simplicity & Scalability: Much of the crypto space is for developers by developers and can confuse many coming in from the traditional markets or retail space. We believe that once we can help establish trust, build transparency as a default we can help build user centred experiences that really enable regular adoption of blockchain technology for everyday usage.

That’s a great question. Currently, project tokens are held in founder wallets and can be dumped at any time. Locking tokens into a Polkalokr smart contract will help bring trust and transparency to a project’s vesting schedule and ensure tokens are distributed to investors on time, every time.

As tokens are locked into a smart contract, all transfers are carried out on-chain and publicly visible. It’s the most transparent way to ensure tokens are being distributed properly.

In addition, Polkalokr also gives projects the ability to lock their tokens into liquidity pools, giving projects peace of mind knowing that liquidity cannot be pulled by bad actors.

We recently published an article on use cases on our Medium, so a lot of detail can be found there, but for the purpose of this AMA, I will summarise from of our major use cases:

Lock and automate distribution of project tokens. This removes the overhead from the project team and gives investors assurances their tokens are safe and will be sent on time. We have taken token distribution to a new level through the introduction of event-based distribution.

Imran Polkalokr:

Polkalokr Dashboard will give users the ability to monitor token locks for all projects. In the event a project’s tokenomics change, users will be notified. Users will also have the ability to track their own portfolios — not just current value, but unrealised portfolio value from future distributions.

Swapr will enable cross-chain escrow transactions, bringing another layer of security to users

Lokr & Swapr, when used together, will give our users the ability to trade locked tokens through our platform

We launched a staking program in collaboration with Terra Virtua and Ferrum Network. We had over 1.15m LKR staked (10% of the circ supply) and participants will have the chance to win exclusive Polkalokr NFT which are being supplied by Terra Virtua. We also just recently participated in a staking event with UniFarm, in which 8 projects came together to stake tokens and be rewarded in each other’s tokens as well, where our staking pool managed to hit full capacity.

It helps build trust within the Defi space by removing the human element and focusing on governance through code, with a seamless, omni-channel digital experience platform accessible via mobile, tablet and desktop.

We are also taking advantage of the latest developments in DeFi and have integrated Oracle feeds into our smart contract to allow event-driven distributions/swaps. Tokens locked into our smart contracts will also be indemnified through our insurance partners, and we will be giving projects the ability to monetise their locked tokens for the first time. Currently, non-circulating tokens do not offer anything to projects — Polkalokr will enable projects to generate revenue from these locked tokens for the first time.

I have over 10 years enterprise-level experience leading technical teams and have delivered many complex, multi-tiered, multi-platform solutions for my clients. However, I have been in the blockchain space since early 2017 and this is where my heart truly lays. I have been involved in crypto as a trader, private/early-stage investor, educator and even set up a mining farm with over 1PH of ASIC mining power which was a lot 4 years ago 😊

What is your top priorities in 2021? Could you share some plans for the upcoming year?

Our number one priority is releasing LOKR, development is moving along nicely and we have already kicked off development for SWAPR ahead of schedule. We will be kicking off closed beta with some of our partners in the coming weeks for LOKR too. We have some interesting ideas on how to build both products beyond just 2021 and into 2022 and beyond also. We have in addition got a few new products we are formalising which will help support the entire lifecycle of token economies for projects that I can’t wait to share more information about over the next year. Priority is LOKR though and getting it released, doing community hackathons around this and working to deliver an easy interface that even our grandparents can use. 😊

What is your game changer uniqueness in the industry

Once both Lokr and Swapr are released, users will have the ability to swap locked tokens. Essentially, we will be creating a new digital asset class where liquidity will be created from illiquid assets. This is something new to the space and opens up a plethora of new scenarios. Once of the areas that will greatly benefit is new projects. Founders will have the option to offer 0% unlocked tokens on TGE to seed/private investors, whilst still giving the investors to sell some of their vested tokens early via the Swapr escrow marketplace. As a result, investors will be happy as they recover some of their investment and reduce their risk, projects are happy as it doesn’t inflate their initial supply and public sale participants are happy as there is no dump from early investors

How efficient and secured is your smart contract, and did you ever audit it via any external party?

Yes all our contracts are audited by pessimistic and hacken, we double audit everything to ensure our smart contracts are vetted by two external agencies. On top of this we use tools like mythx to do daily internal tests on our project. On top of this we are using penetration testing agencies to test our dApps to make sure those are secure as well as our smart contracts to give our customers a peace of mind.

One of the things we have seen in the space is that projects often build products and services for developers that do not translate to everyday tangible products for end-users. Even when they do, the UI/UX is often clunkly and inflexible. We have many years of experience building end-user products and are taking a human-centered approach to our design. Once the product is launched, if my grandma can’t use it, we will have failed 😉

Currently, we are a microcap project and are still in development. Speculators are free to speculate, however, those who understand the industry well, particularly those who work within the space are all eagerly awaiting the launch. All of the projects that we have partnered with have committed to using our products and are in conversations with several launchpads who are also tracking our progress closely. In fact, Reef recently announced their launchpad, ReefStarter, which will eventually offer Polkalokr’s services out-of-the-box.

Speed of delivery, whilst other similar projects have been in the space since 2017 we are new and looking to deliver core functionality and beyond what our competitors have within 12 months. Our vision doesn’t end there we have a roadmap that extends us on development for atleast the next 4–5 years and that list is ever growing. Our team is also critical in our successes with the experience our advisors bring. Finally building amazing UI that helps keep our products simple for the users.

What do you mean with 6 months lock, 5 distributions over 3 years?

Pre-launch we had a simple staking strategy, which has evolved due to community demand. We launched our own off-chain staking program in collaboration with Terra Virtua (an NFT project) and Ferrum Network. We also recently participate in Unifarm’s staking programme and were one of two project whose staking pool hit 100%. We are also exploring off-chain staking on CEX as we recently listed on AscendEX (formerly Bitmax). This will make staking more accessible to participants who don’t want to pay high GAS fees. Later, as we roll out to other chains, new programs will be announced.

First of all, getting enough funds is a primary goal for the construction of a project. Is your team economically capable of running this project? Do you have enough funding to develop it?

Both Anis and I have extensive experience working on enterprise projects and understand the software delivery lifecycle well, as well as the common pitfalls that cause projects to fail due to fund mismanagement. We have spent many years managing budgets and managing cross-functional remote teams. Whilst we are based in the UK, with the size of our raise, it would not be possible to deliver against our roadmap with a 100% UK team. Our team is “decentralised” and are based in various parts of the world we have been able to benefit from the global talent pool, whilst keeping costs down. Based on our current ‘burn-rate’, we can easily deliver against our road map with plenty of contingency
