Let’s take a look at some of the details of this new on-ramping process. First, a short tutorial on how to use it.
First, head over to the Anchor Earn tab and navigate to the top right-hand corner where you will see “Buy UST” as a new option next to the new easy insurance options.
Upon clicking, you will get a pop-up that asks where you want to buy your UST.
As you can see, there are several new integrations. For someone that always used to go through KuCoin, it would have been helpful to see that in the early days of Anchor. However, it is never too late and there is actually an even easier onboarding option now.
Click on “Transak”.
Now, you will be sent to a screen where you are able to choose what currency you transact in and the amount of UST you would like to purchase.
Let me say: For Americans, options are still relatively limited. Europeans have a little more freedom in how they transact because it allows for purchase from SEPA cards. With SEPA, not only is the fee less but more can be bought at one time and you can buy UST directly instead of dealing through ETH.
* But, as a caveat, there is a work-around for Americans. It just requires an extra step. I’ll get to that later.
For example’s sake, I’ll compare purchasing $500 worth of assets through this portal to compare fees and accessibility. Unfortunately, you still cannot buy more than $500 worth when transacting in USD.
