Bitcoin as Payment Option in Jackson, Tennessee

The city mayor of the United States of America is now looking for a possible way to integrate Bitcoin into their government systems. Specifically, Mayor Scott Conger of Jackson, Tennessee, is pushing the idea about Bitcoin as a payment option in paying property tax. In an announcement last week, the city is studying ways to integrate blockchain and cryptocurrency into their system successfully.

Furthermore, the city is also looking forward to making the salary of the city government employees in Bitcoin on a dollar cost average basis. For this reason, the authorities in the city have established a blockchain task force to address all the things needed in the project.

On the other hand, the city of Jackson, Tennessee, is not the first city in America that recognizes the potential of Bitcoin. Interestingly, the mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez is fully embracing Bitcoin. In fact, the Miami mayor is finding a way to lower down the energy cost in the city to attract crypto miners. Indeed, this movement made by Suarez attracts global BTC miners, especially those that were affected by China’s crypto crackdown.   

Today, Bitcoin remains the king of cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalization. Furthermore, the crypto trades a decent price of over $31,000 with a 24-hour trading volume of almost $17 billion.
