Only a few days after Elon Musk, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, floated changes to the way the social media platform verifies user accounts, including charging $8 per month for the privilege, Twitter appears to have started rolling out a new tier of Twitter Blue, its premium service, that reflects some of Musk’s suggestions.
Priority ranking for “quality content” will be another feature of the revamped, more expensive Twitter Blue, which promises to increase subscribers’ exposure in responses, mentions, and searches. It also claims that this would reduce “scams, spam and bots”.
Initially, it will be made available in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. Currently, the Twitter Blue will only support iOS devices.
Some reports also suggest the launch might’ve been premature. According to a tweet by Esther Crawford, a product lead at Twitter, the new Twitter Blue plan isn’t live yet but some users are seeing notifications as part of a test.

However, few think — it’s one of Elon’s antics to create a buzz around the subscription plan, which had faced a lot of heat when first introduced.
