The event marked the second assembly within the #Blockchain4Youth initiative; it was held last March 2, 2024, at the ING office in One Ayala Makati. Bitget noted that it provided a platform for networking and educational prospects in the tech sector.

As per the media release, the event was primarily attended by Computer Science and Information Technology students, alongside some tech professionals, totaling 100 attendees.

“It is amazing and heartwarming that the students were thrilled with the event, and many were intrigued about starting their careers in Web3 and beginning their journey in blockchain technology,” Bitget wrote in a statement.

The event featured panel discussions graced by tech leaders and innovators such as Bitget Community Manager Marc Cedrix Castro, Bitget Country Manager Jose Antonio Mendoza, and DVCode CEO Eliezer Rabadon. These discussions aimed to spotlight emerging technology trends and their future impacts, offering students insights from various industries within the technology sector to broaden their perspectives.

The firms highlighted that this partnership underscores their shared commitment to fostering growth and educational opportunities within the local tech industry, while also aiming to increase Filipinos’ understanding and awareness of emerging technologies, particularly blockchain.

Last month, DEVCON Laguna and Bitget collaborated to host the inaugural event for the Blockchain4Youth initiative. Named the Campus Roadshow event, or “Techtalk: Interactive Session with the Techies,” it attracted over 200 students from Computer Science and Information Technology programs. The event aimed to inspire these students towards Web3 careers through insightful discussions led by tech professionals like Athena Abe and Armielyn Obinguar, alongside notable figures such as Eliezer Rabadon and Jose Antonio.

Spearheaded by Bitget, the Blockchain4Youth Initiative advocates for adopting web3 technologies and encourages the younger generations to embrace crypto and blockchain innovations. 

Bitget pledged $10 million over five years to empower Millennials and Gen Z through this initiative, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping a cryptocurrency-friendly future. The investment aims to support global initiatives fostering knowledge dissemination and advancing towards a blockchain-centric future.

In January, Bitget also unveiled the Blockchain4Her initiative, pledging another $10 million to advance gender diversity in the blockchain industry. This project promotes inclusivity through awareness campaigns, collaborative efforts, and the creation of supportive environments for diverse funding opportunities for the women in the space.
