EYEBALLERS unveil slap as head coach

EYEBALLERS have announced that Fredrik “slap” Junbrant will be taking the team’s reins after recently leaving Young Ninjas. The 29-year-old has been an active member of the Swedish scene for more than ten years, playing in a number of teams throughout the years.

The Swedish coach held the post at Young Ninjas for almost a year, with the biggest achievement of his time at the academy squad being a 3rd place at WePlay Academy League Season 2. He also notably coached Anton “Sapec” Palmgren during his previous tenure, with whom he reunites with on the EYEBALLERS roster.

The former Young Ninjas coach will be looking to transition from the academy scene

He takes over a team put together by Jesper “JW” Wecksell and Robin “flusha” Rönnquist, two veterans of the CS:GO scene, who are representing the organization alongside three youngsters, Casper “SHiNE” Wennerberg, Leo “Svedjehed” Svedjehed and the previously mentioned Sapec, the trio who are all under 20 years of age. The team is currently outside the top 100 in the world ranking, far away from their peak of 62nd place.

“I’m all-in on this project. With the right mix of young talent and seasoned vets EYEBALLERS will be the place to be at for the coming years”, said slap in a statement. “I firmly believe that we will see a Swedish player walk through our project and reach our goal. A player, either with us — or after having gone through our organization — reaches the Champions Stage in a major in two years’ time. And I’m here to help those players on their journey as much as I can.”

flusha was very happy with their choice of coach, saying: “He literally was our first option. He did a fantastic job with the Young Ninjas and has proven himself to be one the best coaches in Sweden when it comes to developing young talents. As founders of the team we see a long collaboration in front of us, and also have been given the right to decide who plays and not.”
