The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has finally revealed the finalists for its competition called the”Global CBDC Challenge.”

The main goal of this competition is to challenge participants in developing viable retail CBDC solutions that can provide solutions to the current payment services system.

The MAS said that its Global CBDC Challenge has attracted more than 300 submissions from interested participants across 50 countries. It also added that the biggest chunk of the applications came from Asia.

Acceleration phase

The lucky finalists, which have gone through the competition’s rigorous standards, will now advance on the Challenge’s “Acceleration Phase.” The finalists consist of technology solutions providers, financial institutions, and fintech companies.
