India has finally landed on the rapidly expanding NFT realm with one of Bollywood legends’ recent ventures into non-fungible tokens.

Amitabh Bachchan, an icon in India’s TV and film industry, has collaborated with BeyondLife.club, one of the world’s fastest-rising NFT marketplaces, to launch his first NFT collection. He will be the first-ever Bollywood star to release this kind of collection.

Rhiti Entertainment, an Indian company, would also partner with Bachchan and BeyondLife.club to launch the actor’s new content.

An NFT for a legend

Bachchan is one of the greatest and most in-demand actors in Bollywood. The 78-year-old legend has already done countless movie and TV commercials throughout his illustrious career.

He also became the host of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC), which is the local adaptation of the famous game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”

“Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be the first one to roll out his NFT collection through BeyonLife.club. These collectibles will represent his legendary status and mark the opening of this maiden NFT platform,” BeyondLife.club said.

Leveraging the star’s power

Many see this latest move as an attempt to use Bachchan’s popularity to introduce the concept of NFTs to the Indians.

And also, the reason why the actor has agreed with the NFT deal, even though NFT popularity isn’t yet big in India is because of the digital asset’s big potential to “boom” in the country. The actor is known for being a business-minded person, and he may have seen a big business opportunity in NFTs.

Both cryptocurrencies and NFTs are not yet flourishing in India, unlike in other countries, because of the government’s cautious stance on these digital assets, especially on cryptocurrencies because of their extreme volatility.
