“Jordan’s expertise is just what we need to continue to offer advice to victims, organizations, and policymakers based on real-world, real-time experiences,” said Eva Velasquez, President and CEO of the Identity Theft Resource Center.

Jordan Burris of Socure, the leading provider of digital identity verification and fraud solutions, has joined the Board of Directors of the Identity Theft Resource Center® (ITRC), a nationally recognized nonprofit organization established to support victims of identity crime.

Burris is the Vice President and Head of Public Sector Strategy at Socure. In this role, he partners with government leaders to develop and scale Socure’s public sector offerings for accurate identity verification and fraud risk prevention. This includes leading efforts to promote and evangelize industry-leading concepts in digital identity inclusion and fairness.

“I am thrilled to welcome Jordan Burris to the ITRC’s Board of Directors,” said Eva Velasquez, President and CEO of the Identity Theft Resource Center. “Jordan is an industry leader with deep knowledge around identity verification and fraud risk management at a time when identity fraud is soaring. Jordan’s expertise is just what we need to continue to offer advice to victims, organizations, and policymakers based on real-world, real-time experiences.”

Before his role at Socure, Burris served at the intersection of policy and delivery as the Chief of Staff in the White House Office of the Federal Chief Information Officer. He was responsible for orchestrating the execution of technology and cybersecurity efforts across two Presidential administrations, including overseeing the Federal Government’s multi-billion-dollar technology budget. Burris is a transformational strategist and thought leader behind the development of government-wide technology and cybersecurity initiatives, notably in the digital identity domain. Prior to joining the government in 2017, Burris worked for Deloitte, helping both commercial and public sector clients improve their cybersecurity risk management practices.

“Socure’s mission is to verify 100 percent of good identities in real-time and completely eliminate identity fraud for every applicant on the internet. We believe digital identity verification must be intersectional and work for everyone who chooses to engage in the process,” said Burris. “Across government and commercial sectors, digital services are under constant attack from cybercriminals, nation-state attackers and fraudsters. Meanwhile, people that are victims of identity theft struggle to access the services they need to operate in society – this is compounded for those seeking to access government benefits. I’m excited to partner with the ITRC as we have a similar mission, and I look forward to our work together.”
