Kraken’s mobile application has announced that it will finally support Google Pay and Apple Pay wallets, providing users with expanded choices in their payment methods.
The crypto exchange has informed its customers through a blog post that they can now use these two wallets from Google and Apple and purchase more than 50 cryptocurrencies of their choice.
It added that customers can pay cryptos at a minimum of $10 with a maximum limit of $7,500 during the seven-day rolling period.
Before this new service, Kraken customers had to copy and paste their account details from their internet banking app just to purchase cryptos, which is quite burdensome. But thanks to the availability of Google Pay and Apple Pay, this step has finally been eliminated.
More accessible
“This simplifies the purchasing process and brings the payment methods that people are used to using in their everyday life to the crypto experience,” Jonathan Miller, Kraken Managing Director for Australia, said.
The recent support for Google Pay and Apple Pay will also help Kraken to expand its services and strengthen its position as one of the most competitive crypto exchanges in the market today.
With intensifying competition in the crypto market, various crypto exchanges are either securing their position or are trying to carve a new one through expanded and innovative services for their customers.
Expansion
Kraken Founder and Chief Executive Officer Jesse Powell said the company is currently planning to penetrate the European market.
Powell said that Kraken is in the process of acquiring a license in a European Union country. He added that Kraken is considering expanding to Ireland, Malta, and Luxembourg.
The CEO said that Kraken might soon go public just like Coinbase has done recently.
