Liquid narrowly defeat Complexity to reach Group B final

Liquid claimed their second victory of the day after besting their compatriots in Complexity 16-14 on Vertigo. This result means Nick “⁠nitr0⁠” Cannella and company have booked their spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Final Group B final.

As for Complexity, they have been sent down to the consolidation final, where they await the winner of Natus Vincere vs G2.

Complexity started their T side firmly on the right foot, stealing the pistol round with a push on B before snowballing their way to an undisturbed 6-0 lead. A sudden change of pace by Liquid on the CT side enabled the side led by nitr0 to finally get themselves on the board, eventually bringing the score to a more respectable 7-5 deficit. The remainder of the half continued to play out in Liquid‘s favour thanks to a solid defensive effort by Jonathan “⁠EliGE⁠” Jablonowski as they trailed by just one round at the swap.

Liquid took the lead for the first time at the start of the second half, winning the pistol round and following conversion to go 9-8 up. An eco round victory by Complexity flipped the script, however, with Johnny “⁠JT⁠” Theodosiou‘s side using this to go on a five-round spree to extend their lead to 13-9. A 2v4 victory by Keith “⁠NAF⁠” Markovic and Mareks “⁠YEKINDAR⁠” Gaļinskis, when down 10-14, kickstarted Liquid‘s comeback, which ended with a clean execute on the A site on the last round to clinch a razor-thin 16-14 victory.
