Solana Ecosystem Call; Superteam Philippines Local Events on March 8 | BitPinas

Superteam Philippines, collaborating with regional blockchain communities, is gearing up to organize a series of in-person events across the country on March 8.

These events are part of the Solana Ecosystem Call (SEC), designed to engage participants nationwide in a coordinated effort to explore and expand the Solana blockchain network within the Philippines.

In the Philippines, the local community of Solana’s Superteam DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization), will be conducting simultaneous in-real-life (IRL) events on March 8 in different locations in the country. 

  • Bacolod (Web3 Bacolod)
  • Bicol (Bicol IT)
  • Bulacan (Web3 Bulacan)
  • Cebu (Web3 Cebu)
  • Davao (Davao DeFi)
  • Manila (The BLOK, Superteam Philippines)
  • Baguio (Bitshares Labs)
  • Leyte (Web3 Leyte)
  • Cavite (1StepMedia)
  • Tuguegarao (Japee of ZFT Tribe)

In addition, the organization announced a partnership with crypto platform Stables, offering bounties and airdrops to event participants.

One of the locations for the SEC will be in Cebu, the Web3 Cebu Community recently announced that its in-person event will be at The Arcade, Bonifacio District, starting at 6 PM. There will also be an IRL event in Davao City at Surfshark Cafe. 

Accordingly, Sal Samani, Solana Foundation’s Community Manager, extended an invitation to global network enthusiasts to join their live call on March 8th. The event offers both live and in-person replays across multiple locations such as Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand—some locations are still to be confirmed (TBC).

He noted that attendees can expect updates on ecosystem developments, insights from special guests, and early access to upcoming advancements. The call comes with networking opportunities, commemorative POAP tokens, and prizes.

Last month, the SEC was hosted by web3 experts and members of the Superteam, occurring simultaneously in Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, Bicol, Davao, and Bulacan.

Superteam Philippines aims to nurture Filipino web3 talent by facilitating learning, earning, building, and community engagement. With a focus on education, they provide resources for Filipinos to grasp the fundamentals of web3, blockchain, and cryptocurrency through platforms like Solana and The BLOKC. Additionally, they offer avenues for earning through participation in bounties, hackathons, and career opportunities within the Solana ecosystem.

What is the Solana Ecosystem Call?

The Solana Ecosystem Call is a monthly scheduled meeting or conference where stakeholders, developers, and enthusiasts within the Solana blockchain ecosystem gather to discuss updates, developments, projects, and collaborations related to Solana. 

It serves as a platform for exchanging insights, networking, and promoting community involvement within the Solana ecosystem.

Solana Renaissance Hackathon 

Last February 29, Superteam Philippines organized a kick-off party for the Solana Renaissance Hackathon at the Coins.ph office in Taguig City. 

It is a global competition organized by the Solana Foundation in collaboration with Colosseum. It aims to ignite innovation within the Solana network and the next generation of builders. 

The hackathon is running from March 4 to April 8, 2024, participants can register and compete via Colosseum’s online platform

Participants in the competition have the chance to vie for prizes exceeding $1 million in total, including rewards such as $50,000 in USDC and Solana Breakpoint passes for the Grand Champion, alongside track prizes ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 in USDC.

Additional awards include the $10,000 USDC University Award for the best student team, a $10,000 USDC Public Goods Award for open-source technology, and a $5,000 USDC Climate Award for environmentally friendly projects.

Furthermore, the Accelerator Program grants up to 15 winners access to Colosseum’s exclusive initiative, providing a mentorship network, $250,000 in pre-seed funding, private platform features, and more.

Accordingly, Superteam Philippines, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), will commence its inaugural in-person learning session for Build Station of the Rennaissance Hackathon on March 6 at 1 PM in the DICT office in Quezon City.
