VR Fitness Digest: October 2022

Halloween is next week, and there are plenty of VR experiences to get your heart racing in the spirit of the season. But don’t worry if horror’s not your cup of tea—you can always up your heart rate with a good workout. With Meta Quest, fitness is easy, fun, and you can do it whenever and wherever you want. So let’s dive into this month’s terrific collection of accessories and fitness content.

The Meta Quest 2 Active Pack Is Now Available

We know that getting moving in VR can be sweaty work, so if you want to be able to easily get rid of all that well-earned perspiration when using your Meta Quest 2 for fitness, this accessory bundle is just what you’re looking for.

Available now on the Meta Quest Store for $69.99 USD, the Meta Quest 2 Active Pack comes with a wipeable facial interface so you can wipe away sweat and dirt after each use and get right back to working out, an extra set of wrist straps, and new adjustable knuckle straps so you can throw all the uppercuts you want without worrying about dropping your Meta Quest Touch controllers. It gives you more comfort and control, and that’ll make you feel better than ever about using your Meta Quest 2 to take the “work” out of “workout.”

New Content

Knee Strikes in Supernatural

If you’re already part of the Supernatural fam, you’re already familiar with the wide range of Flow and Boxing workouts available. And now there’s a new explosive way to move along with Coaches Leanne, Doc, Mark, Rainier, or Dwana with knee strikes.

As you bob and weave your way through the workouts, you’ll strike targets by driving your knees forward and to the beat. This will not only boost your movement, it will also help strengthen your core and lower body and improve your balance and coordination.

Each week, knee strikes will be available in select Boxing and Flow workouts. So grab your controllers, load up Supernatural, and start pumping your knees to smash those targets!

GYM CLASS – BASKETBALL VR

Hoops season is in full swing, and you’re probably glued to your TV to catch all your favorite team’s games. But why should the pros have all the fun? With GYM GLASS – BASKETBALL VR, you can get in on the action. Strap on your Meta Quest 2, and you can get some court time with friends from around the world, hitting threes from waaaay downtown, jamming home rim-shaking dunks, and vying to be a superstar in a huge VR sports community.

GYM CLASS – BASKETBALL VR features public courts for pickup games, customizable skins and accessories, stats, shot charts, and streaks, and it has state-of-the-art physics that make playing basketball in VR feel real. So grab the rock, start dribbling and passing, and get ready to be an all-star.

Liteboxer Total Body Workouts

Liteboxer is already a great fitness app for Meta Quest 2, letting you punch away calories to the beat of hit songs (known as “punch tracks”).

And now, with the addition of Total Body Workouts, it’s even better. You’ll be face-to-face with a Trainer in VR who will encourage you with clear, expert instruction as you take on a whole bunch of new activities. They include duck ropes, lunge lines, rope swings, battle ropes, speed bag—and much more is coming.

When you’re done, you’ll have engaged every part of your body in every workout. Let’s go!

LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT: SKY CITY

With SKY CITY, the latest update to the hit martial arts-inspired workout app LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT, there’s five brand-new workouts and an all-new environment, the beautiful futuristic and utopian Sky City.

Also featuring cool new visual effects when you achieve a combo and a simulated tunnel vision “Focus Mode,” SKY CITY will raise your heartbeat and engage your imagination.

We want to inspire you to get the most out of VR fitness. Whether it’s great experiences that take you to beautiful locations while exercising or accessories that give you more comfort and control while wearing your headset, we’ve got you covered.

We hope that if VR fitness isn’t already a regular part of your routine, it will be soon. And we want to know about it. So snap a post-workout selfie and tag @MetaQuestVR to share it with a VR community that wants to applaud your progress. We can’t wait to see you again in November for our next VR Fitness Digest.
