Welcoming CJ Rinaldi as Blockchain.com’s Chief Compliance Officer

As crypto goes mainstream, it’s more important than ever for Blockchain.com to set the highest standards for protecting consumers and fighting illicit activity. That’s why I’m proud to officially welcome CJ Rinaldi as our global Chief Compliance Officer.

CJ brings more than 30 years of regulatory compliance, CCO and leadership experience to the future of finance. A former regulator and then big bank compliance chief, CJ cut his teeth on financial regulation by serving as Senior Counsel in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

That experience propelled him to Global Head of Client Infrastructure at UBS Investment Bank, and as Manager of Counterparty Relations at Bridgewater Associates. Most recently, CJ has been the Chief Compliance Officer for the Anti-Financial Crimes Compliance organization at Deutsche Bank, overseeing a global team who ensured millions of transactions both protected their customers and kept criminals and bad actors out of their operations.

Mitigating financial crime and risk isn’t easy and when overlaying the rapidly evolving regulatory environment for crypto, it takes a proven leader with deep experience and relationships with policy makers and the wider financial community to be successful.

In his new role, CJ will build out Blockchain.com’s established global compliance frameworks, maintain a durable compliance program that mitigates compliance risk, supervise client lifecycle management, and grow an already robust compliance team.

CJ will extend our existing financial crime and regulatory compliance frameworks to build an industry-leading, durable compliance program that safeguards Blockchain.com’s customers, team, and business — while advancing the crypto ecosystem.

Over the last 10 years Blockchain.com has taken compliance seriously, making it one of the primary functions within the company. Under CJ’s leadership, we look forward to growing our strong compliance foundation, safeguarding our customers’ financial interests, and advocating for the regulation of cryptocurrency around the world.
