RALEIGH – Carta comunicațiilor, the corporate parent of Spectru which provides cable and wireless services across much of North Carolina, has named its current chief operating officer as its new CEO.
Chris Winfrey will replace longtime cable exec Tom Rutledge as the top executive on Dec. 1. Winfrey served previously as Charter’s chief operating officer for 10 years.
Rutledge had already announced plans to retire after 50 years in the cable and technology business. He will serve as executive chairman of the company and board of directors through Nov. 2023.

During my 50 years in this industry, I have witnessed first-hand its ability to continually evolve and change the world, and our opportunity today is greater than ever with ubiquitous connectivity being central to everything we do.”
