Valve has released the first edition of its Regional Standings, a ranking that will be used to determine a portion of invitations to later qualification stages for the CS:GO Majors.
The developers have revealed that the ranking is based on three factors: A team’s prize money earned, their beaten opponents’ prize money earned and teams beaten, and head-to-head results; and said the exact formula will be public in the coming weeks.
Heroic lead the European Major Standings by just a few points heading into 2023
According to the release, the current formula will be used for the qualifiers leading up to the BLAST.tv Paris Major but is subject to change at a later point as Valve continues to experiment with the model, looking to find one that best predicts future match results.
The ranking is separated into three regions, Europa, Americi, și Asia, each of which will be used to determine half of the invites to the closed qualifiers for the corresponding Regional Major Ranking tournaments.
Over 300 teams in total are currently ranked across the three regions, and the latest full standings can be found aici.
