Boombl4 becomes free agent

The Russian IGL’s contract with Natus Vincere has expired and he is now a free agent.

Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov is no longer a part of Natus Vincere and has thus entered free agency, the player has announced on Twitter. The 24-year-old joined Natus Vincere in 2019 and was on the team for almost three years before getting removed from the active roster in May of 2022, with Natus Vincere citing “high reputational risks for the club” as the reason for his removal.

The announcement comes amid rumors that Boombl4 is building a new team under the BetBoom tag, with names such as Igor “Forester” Bezotecheskiy and Aleksandr “KaiR0N-” Anashkin being among the most notable names mentioned as potential candidates to join him in his new endeavor.

Boombl4’s contract with NAVI has come to an end

Boombl4 tenure at Natus Vincere was a fruitful one, as the team won the Stockholm Major as well as the Intel Grand Slam Season 3 among many other titles. The roster spent nine months in the No.1 spot in the World rankings during 2021 and 2022 before being overtaken by FaZe in April.

Natus Vincere has struggled to replicate the success under Boombl4 since his removal, with the roster clouded in uncertainty through 2022. Denis “electroNic” Sharipov picked up the IGL role while Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev was signed on a short-term contract, with the 25-year-old now making way for academy graduate Andrii “npl” Kukharskyi for the 2023 season.

“My contract with Natus Vincere has come to an end. I want to thank you for all the ups and downs that we experienced together,” Boombl4 reflected on Twitter. “It was an unforgettable part of my life that I will always remember.”
