Logitech ‘achieves Zoom Smart Gallery first’ with Grid View

Logitech has introduced Grid View, an intelligent camera feature which puts people in a meeting room into their own frames on a remote viewer’s screen.

The latest development in the RightSight 2 suite of features for Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini has just been released with the CollabOS 1.8 update

The company says remote workers find it hard to see all the people in a meeting room, and in particular their non-verbal communication, when they are squeezed into a single video stream.

Grid View uses AI to detect faces and zoom in on each person in the room, before giving them their own frame to allow them to be seen better by remote colleagues.

With this feature, Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini are said to be the first devices to support up five video streams with Zoom.

“Grid View takes Zoom’s Smart Gallery multi-stream experience to the next level,” says a Logitech blog post.

Grid View also enables IntelliFrame for Teams Rooms on Windows with Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini. IntelliFrame similarly places in-room participants in their own video gallery tile and removes the empty space between them. Support for Teams Rooms on Android will come in a future CollabOS update.
