Newline: Technology tailored to teachers

Newline Lyra has been designed with teachers in mind. The display features have been developed to offer maximum support without any complicated procedures that detract from the essential interaction between teachers and students. Newline’s aim is to make touchscreen use and integration in the classroom as easy and natural as possible in order to let teachers focus on teaching and offering students the help they need.

The first big change Newline has implemented is a brand new ergonomic design. The menu keys of the interactive display are positioned slightly angled upwards, making it easier to control the display while standing in front of it. The lower part of the bezel is shaped as a pen tray for more convenience.

As safety comes first, Newline has implemented an embedded blue light filter in the interactive display. The chosen technology applies right to the source of the problem. The LED backlight – adding KSF Phosphor substrate to the LED creates a blue light filter from the source without compromising on the colour! This filter is always on, guaranteeing the best safety for teachers against the harmful effects of blue light.

Another big topic in education regarding safety is germs! Children touching the surface of the interactive display, or maybe even various teachers using the same display cause germs to easily spread. Five seconds of contact is enough to pick up 99% of bacteria from a contaminated surface. Newline’s unique antimicrobial glass with a bacterial proliferation rate of less than 1% is TÜV certified, ISO 22196 and absolutely safe to use!

Security is also addressed in Lyra as the more powerful Android 11 OS can now be disabled through Android Safe Mode for when a higher level of network security is needed. Android 11 has improved the privacy and protection of user data from malicious apps and games. Enabling the Android can only be done by the administrator through a highly secure process. For the user, the security is enhanced by offering user profiles. These profiles keep the users’ preferences for themes, apps and personal settings.

Besides being super safe and secure, Newline Lyra also offers an immersive AV experience to the classroom that will keep students captivated with vibrant colours and crystal clear 4K imagery from every seat. Extensive connectivity, amazing ease of use, and paper-like writing technology allow users to stay fully focused on teaching. The extensive connection options make Lyra super easy to work with.
