Philips displays chosen for hotel group with 6,000 locations

PPDS has signed a deal with IHG Hotels & Resorts to debut its Philips MediaSuite TVs in guest rooms.

IHG has more than 6,000 properties across 100 countries, encompassing almost a million guest rooms, under brands such as InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza.

As a part of the global partnership, Philips MediaSuite TVs ranging in size from 49” to 75” will be deployed in selected hotels across all of its brands in the coming months.

Launched in 2019, the Philips MediaSuite offers 4K UHD picture quality, and is the only dedicated hospitality TV with Chromecast built in. Guests will be able to wirelessly stream content such as movies and games from their devices to the big screen at the touch of a button.

The TVs are also Netflix ready, giving guests instant access to the movies and shows on their own account, without the need for external players or peripherals.

Peter Palli, senior vice-president of property, owner and stay experience products and platforms at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “In-room entertainment is an important part of the guest experience, and it’s crucial that we have an innovative platform that allows them to further personalise their stay and interact with IHG in new ways. This partnership will allow us to provide enhanced guest experiences, while also increasing the value proposition for our hotels with the integration of the Chromecast functionality into the TV.”
