Releases Recap: October 24 – 28

This week, we released several titles and updates across the Meta Quest Platform—including the new Meta Quest Pro. Check out the Meta Quest Pro launch lineup, or read on for a rundown of other noteworthy highlights:

IRON GUARD
IRON GUARD VR is a sci-fi tower defense game made in the spirit of classic RTS games. Find out why the terraformer robots have rebelled and help evacuate your crew from an unknown planet. IRON GUARD VR features complete 360-degree immersive gameplay, multiple upgradeable turrets, path blockers, and mining harvesters, arcade-style shooting from a drone using conventional or super weapons, and battles across a variety of beautiful (and mysterious) environments. The lives of the surviving crew members are in your hands.

Perfect For: Fans of Eternal Starlight, Captain ToonHead vs The Punks from Outer Space, and Acron: Attack of the Squirrels!
Developer: Xlab Digital LLC
Available On: Meta Quest Platform

Surgineer
Have you ever dreamed of being a real surgeon? Well, you are not gonna learn that in Surgineer. Welcome to the most unrealistic surgery simulator, where everyone can instantly become a terrible doctor. Use your hands (with physics) to dig into the patient’s flesh, or use a huge arsenal of scalpels, knives, syringes, drills, saws, rubber ducks, and much more. Slap the patient’s face with a fish, because why not? You’ll have to solve hilarious surgical procedures—ranging from CPR to brain transplants to removing alien eggs from a poor patient using a robotic arm!

Perfect For: Fans of Job Simulator, Cook-Out, and The American Dream
Developer: Holonautic
Available On: Meta Quest 2 + Pro

Waltz of the Wizard – Change the World Update
Waltz of the Wizard’s new Change the World update puts voice interaction and hand-tracking at the center of the experience. Voice can be used everywhere, with hundreds of voice commands that let you summon new types of objects, change physical properties (like making anything huge or tiny or super bouncy), and play with magic physics. You can also customize what your magical gestures do, by saying something like “When I snap my fingers create a butterfly.” That, plus a new sticker-board that keeps track of the many things you can experience, four new magical wards to unlock, a new mode in The Fortress that lets you generate an infinite number of random new levels, and more.

Perfect For: Fans of The Wizards – Dark Times, Wands Alliances, and Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok
Developer: Aldin
Available On: Meta Quest Platform

Puzzling Places – The Haunted House
It’s time to get spooky with “The Haunted House,” this year’s special Halloween puzzle for Puzzling Places. Available to all Meta Quest players for free, this spooky puzzle was made with a photogrammetry 3D scan of an old house from the small town of Volozhka, Russia. The Puzzling Places team then took the 3D model and transformed it into a Halloween-themed haunted house—full of pumpkins, spiderwebs, gravestones, and a glimpse of the Nosferatu vampire himself. Whether you’re fully decked out in Halloween costumes or kicking back in your home with the porch light turned off, enjoy this spooky free puzzle! (And for players on Meta Quest Pro, be sure to check out the new color passthrough mode as well!)

Perfect For: Fans of Cubism, Arcsmith, and Gadgeteer
Developer: realities.io
Available On: Meta Quest Platform
