HyperGram 3D display promotes Ukrainian schoolgirl diary

The diary of a Ukrainian schoolgirl is to be promoted in London with a holographic display that uses “8K, Ultra-HD 3D technology”.

The promotion, which is a partnership between publishing company Bloomsbury, the Disturbed Media Group and Ingage Media, is said to be a publishing-industry first.

According to The Bookseller magazine, Yeva Skalietska, the 12-year-old author of You Don’t Know What War Is will have her journey from Ukraine to Ireland shown “via a multi-sensory animation that will float in mid air”. Viewers will hear Skalietska’s own words narrated by actor Keira Knightley who reads the audiobook edition of the diary. The animation will also feature Bloomsbury’s charity partnership with UK for UNHCR, the UN refugee agency.

The promotion will appear from 1 December in the atrium at the Westfield London (White City) shopping centre and can also be seen from 16-18 December at London’s King’s Cross railway station.

You Don’t Know What War Is by Skalietskska has an introduction by children’s author Michael Morpurgo and has been compared to Anne Frank’s diary.

The holographic display for the promotion is being available to brands under the HyperGram brand name by the Disturbed Media Group.
