Resolution Games Showcase Recap: Big Updates for ‘Demeo,’ ‘Bait!’, and More for the Meta Quest Platform

Resolution Games has so many VR games in the works that it decided to host its first-ever live showcase—and it didn’t disappoint! Whatever type of game you’re into, you’re sure to find something that’ll catch your eye among the studio’s many reveals and updates for games on the Meta Quest Platform.

Here’s a quick recap of some of the major announcements from the showcase:

Multiplayer Comes to Bait!

The quaint fishing game Bait! receives its first major update in years in the form of Fishin’ Buddies, a new multiplayer mode. Out now for free for players on Quest 2 + Pro, Fishin’ Buddies lets you and three other friends fish together and compete in tournaments at Penguin Point. The update also introduces Casters’ Cove, a small slice of paradise where up to 12 players can hang out and participate in social activities like RC boat races or paddling in inflatable floaties.

Blaston Goes Free-to-Play

The 1-on-1 dueling game Blaston is now free on the Meta Quest Platform! Also available today are several new updates, including new weapon attachments and skins, a revamped in-game store, improved Passthrough on Quest 2, and support for full-color Passthrough on Quest Pro.

Anyone who bought Blaston before today’s update will receive a reward to thank them for their early contributions to the game: a Golden Gratitude Pack (a $50+ value) containing Golden Gratitude Clamos and Golden Gratitude Viper (exclusive skins not obtainable any other way), as well as 1160 Blasts that can be spent in the in-game shop.

Demeo’s New Campaign

Reign of Madness, the fifth campaign for the hit virtual tabletop RPG Demeo, is now available! The final chapter of the Mad Elven King Saga takes place in the town of Ends, and players will finally have a chance to stop Rackarn once and for all. Reign of Madness comes with a new playable character, Uhrak the Barbarian, as well as new enemies, levels, and cards.

To reflect the wealth of content in Demeo—which now encompasses five complete fantasy adventures, three new playable characters, and numerous improvements since launch—Resolution Games also announced that the price will increase to $39.99 USD starting on January 12, 2023. If you haven’t done so yet, you can lock in the current price of $29.99 USD by grabbing Demeo before then!

Demeo Battles Coming Next Year

The darkness of Demeo’s dungeons has always felt more bearable with the light of friends—but what happens when friends become enemies? That’s the idea behind Demeo Battles, the long-awaited PvP multiplayer twist on a VR favorite coming in 2023. Gameplay footage was revealed for the first time, showing how players can team up with the very monsters that once hunted them as they battle other players in turn-based tactical combat.

Racket Club Reveal

A brand new game from the developer, Racket Club reinvents the idea of pickup sports by connecting players from all over the world to have fun together in an all-new sport designed from the ground-up for VR play. Stay tuned for more details in 2023!

Ultimechs Season 2

The second season of multiplayer mech game Ultimechs starts today, bringing with it the brand new Arcade Mode, where gloves return faster, cooldowns are shorter, and Supercharges are more plentiful than ever. You’ll also find the season two UltiPass that comes with 75 new items to unlock, including GauntJet Trails (customizable trails that appear behind your rocket fists every time they’re fired).

Ultimechs is available for free on Quest 2 + Pro.

Phew, that’s a lot of games! But they represent only a fraction of what Resolution Games is working on for the future. Check out the full showcase for more details, and make sure to visit the Quest Store to try out all the newly released content today!
